Youth Mental Health First Aid

Picture
What is it?
Youth Mental Health First Aid is a training program for adults who work with, volunteer with, or even live with youth ages 12-18.
The training involves 2 hours of self-paced, online pre-work and approximately 5 hours of Zoom with our instructors. Once the pandemic is over, an in-person option for that 5 hours will be possible.

What will I learn?
You will learn all the steps of ALGEE and how to apply them.
Signs and symptoms of mental health concerns in youth are different than those in adults, and we'll talk about those differences.
Resources are also different for youth, and you'll learn where the professionals are in your community who can help in many situations.
Most importantly, you'll learn to be a "noticer"  - someone who notices changes in behavior and is comfortable reaching out and offering appropriate support.

Cost?
Youth Mental Health First Aid Virtual Trainings are available for $40/person at this time, thanks to the support of the MHAKY Board of Directors.
