Advocacy Opportunities

WHAT IS AN ADVOCATE?  An advocate is a person who publicly supports a policy or cause. In this case, you're a mental health advocate because you care about mental wellness and the mental health system in Kentucky.

HOW CAN I BE AN ADVOCATE?  Share your story with us - in general or on a variety of special topics.  Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper on a mental health topic. Contact your legislator and tell them how important mental health issues are to you. Sign up for our enews and complete the tasks we ask of you during the Kentucky General Assembly each winter and early spring.
Need help with any or all of these steps? Contact us and we're happy to walk you through it.

MHA Kentucky collects real-life stories from Kentuckians on a variety of mental health topics. Click the topic to share your story with us in a structured and safe manner. Completing these forms does give us permission to contact you regarding the content.
